I've seen a ton of info on here about forwarding TCP ports 8000 - 8001 and all sorts, but I still can't broadcast.
I even temporarily turned on the DMZ to see if it was a port issue, but the IP address given by VDJ when I try to broadcast from my own PC still "cannot display web page".
Tearing out what little hair I have left. If these things were made simple, I guess it would put a lot of people out of IT jobs!
Any useful step by step help for a complete tech noob much appreciated.

You try to listen yourself to your broadcast?
As fas as i know, it did not work with the given adress (located under the start button) to listen inside the same LAN.
Is it possible for a friend to listen to your broadcast?

Yeah I gave the address to two mates and the browser couldn't bring up the webpage.
Weirdly, I can broadcast via a server!

Normaly you have only to enable your internal IP Adress inside your router.
It means not the displayed IP Adress, given from VDJ inside the broadcast config.
Have a look to your ethernet card or try to open the DOS Window and use the IPCONFIG command.
Sorry i don't know, how the prog called in english. :-)
This IPAdress is the one you have type into the router.
Out there are al ot of router, so i can't help you to use the right settings.
But the router must allow for this IPAdress the traffic in boths directions. (IN/Out)
When this is done, you must only give your friends the adress, who is displayed unter the start/stop button!
Put this adress, for example into the Winamp Player and it works.
