Just a suggestion, maybe the smoke machine is getting older and drawing more amps, I guess they don't last forever. Maybe it just needs a good flush cleaning to. A point to ponder.

Just changed the smoke machine for a brand new one, and the problem is even worse now. The venue is having a refit soon and all the amps are being moved as is the smoke machine, so i'll mention it to the guys doing he install and see what they come up with.

Certainly am mate. Its a brand new Martin smoke machine. My external soundcard is an RME RPM which also has its own seperate power supply. The smoke & lights are on one ring main and the sound is on another.
My laptop, external drives, the soundcard, radio mic all plug into one of these

I thought I was the only one with this problem!....I have tried plugging the mains in a different supply, capacitors across mains leads, moving ext sound card to different positions, pleading with the club not to use the smoke machine!...spraying water on the carpet in the booth (that just gave me trench foot!). Im due to play this venue again this week, and seriously considering blowing the fog machine up! Nothing seems to stop it!
