Topic: Need at least 20 Cue Points

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

In VDJ, I thought I was able to set cues up to 99. (JoeyKj and Phantomdeejay helped alot,Thanks.) I went to mappers and found up to ten. Can I Set This Up To 99 Cues for example? I really only need about 20 just to have. The Keyboard mappers.xml in VDJ Folder showed:

<map value="ALT+1" action="goto_cue 1" />
<map value="ALT+2" action="goto_cue 2" />
<map value="ALT+3" action="goto_cue 3" />
<map value="ALT+4" action="goto_cue 4" />
<map value="ALT+5" action="goto_cue 5" />
<map value="ALT+6" action="goto_cue 6" />
<map value="ALT+7" action="goto_cue 7" />
<map value="ALT+8" action="goto_cue 8" />
<map value="ALT+9" action="goto_cue 9" />
<map value="ALT+0" action="goto_cue 10" />
<map value="CTRL+1" action="set_cue 1" />
<map value="CTRL+2" action="set_cue 2" />
<map value="CTRL+3" action="set_cue 3" />
<map value="CTRL+4" action="set_cue 4" />
<map value="CTRL+5" action="set_cue 5" />
<map value="CTRL+6" action="set_cue 6" />
<map value="CTRL+7" action="set_cue 7" />
<map value="CTRL+8" action="set_cue 8" />
<map value="CTRL+9" action="set_cue 9" />
<map value="CTRL+0" action="set_cue 10" />

Thanks again to JoeyKJ and PhantomDeeJay

Yup, just change the number. Not all 99 are mapped by default :)

Not a 100% but as a Pro user you can have up to 99 (per track) but I see your a limited edition user so maybe that's why........like I said not a 100% but im sure someone will step up and let's us both know, lol!

Edit, Scott saves the day! You can delete this if you want.

What mapper Combination keys would I use for 11-20????
"Phantomdeejay" suggested below:

Example: <map value="SHIFT+CTRL+1" action="set_cue 11" />, It really made sense. I setup the goto_cue & set_cue
but that didn't work. When I pressed "shift+ctrl+1" nothing happened. He also stated:

"Yes, you can map your keyboard up to 99 cues if you wish so (99 is the max for VDJ) but chances are that you will run out of keyboard keys first especially if you use a laptop.
Anyway, in order to "save" some keys you can use modifiers or key combos"

Actual Keyboard mappers.xml is:
<map value="ALT+1" action="goto_cue 1" />
<map value="ALT+2" action="goto_cue 2" />
<map value="ALT+3" action="goto_cue 3" />
<map value="ALT+4" action="goto_cue 4" />
<map value="ALT+5" action="goto_cue 5" />
<map value="ALT+6" action="goto_cue 6" />
<map value="ALT+7" action="goto_cue 7" />
<map value="ALT+8" action="goto_cue 8" />
<map value="ALT+9" action="goto_cue 9" />
<map value="ALT+0" action="goto_cue 10" />
<map value="CTRL+1" action="set_cue 1" />
<map value="CTRL+2" action="set_cue 2" />
<map value="CTRL+3" action="set_cue 3" />
<map value="CTRL+4" action="set_cue 4" />
<map value="CTRL+5" action="set_cue 5" />
<map value="CTRL+6" action="set_cue 6" />
<map value="CTRL+7" action="set_cue 7" />
<map value="CTRL+8" action="set_cue 8" />
<map value="CTRL+9" action="set_cue 9" />
<map value="CTRL+0" action="set_cue 10" />

Suggested key mapper for cue points 11-20:
For instance:

<map value="SHIFT+ALT+1" action="goto_cue 11" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+2" action="goto_cue 12" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+3" action="goto_cue 13" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+4" action="goto_cue 14" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+5" action="goto_cue 15" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+6" action="goto_cue 16" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+7" action="goto_cue 17" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+8" action="goto_cue 18" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+9" action="goto_cue 19" />
<map value="SHIFT+ALT+0" action="goto_cue 20" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+1" action="set_cue 11" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+2" action="set_cue 12" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+3" action="set_cue 13" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+4" action="set_cue 14" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+5" action="set_cue 15" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+6" action="set_cue 16" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+7" action="set_cue 17" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+8" action="set_cue 18" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+9" action="set_cue 19" />
<map value="SHIFT+CTRL+0" action="set_cue 20" />

Finally you can use "hot_cue 1" instead of "goto_cue 1" and "delete_cue 1" instead of "set_cue 1"
The behavior of the buttons will change a little, but you' eliminate the need for another 20 key combos in order to delete your cues

I tried it again, just to be sure: <map value="SHIFT+ALT+1" action="goto_cue 11" />

I saw it, in the "RHYTHM WINDOW" and it said "cue 11", but in the "WAVEFORM" the (cue point) white vertical line was missing, so there's no way to delete or rename it. I'm getting closer. Suggestions?

I have to ask... Why do you require 20 cue points? I have a hard time keeping track of 3! There's a lot of music out there.

AC

You may see all 99 cues on the rhythm window, but in the songpos (small waveform of the song) you will be able to view just the first 10.
this is probably a limitation, to help viewing the songpos instead of 99 lines, that wouldnt help you much.

To delete a cue use
delete_cue 1
or
delete_cue 11
etc

So let me get this right, only ten cue point markers (Delete/Rename), will be visible in the waveform display, and 11-99 in the waverhythm display will only show where you set the cue, practically invisible (no markers) cannot Delete/Rename. Is that right? .....I need about 20 Cue Points max to keep on the break parts of old club classics. (as a visual tool). Eventhough I can still see the waveform change. So when I mix I won't mix on the break. I may never use so many, but it'll be there.

hope I got this right.

thanks,
Jamie t.

Yes you got this right.

There is a workaround to this, not 100% working, and you will need some skinning skills.

Since the rhythm window is capable to show all your cue points, you have to make a second rhythm window somewhere in the skin to show something like this.

You can find this kind of rhythm in the 4 deck VirtualDj skin. Use your mouse wheel (or use the zoom slider) to make the zoom look like this.

This way you will be able to view large part of your song, not the entire.

But if you need the rhythm window too for mixing, then you have to duplicate that window to another part of your skin.

I am using cue points as index points that show me the song initial position on large videos as live shows recordings.
So I missed the marks 11-99 at the songpos window, too. It would be great to have it on future, its easiest to reach the cues by one click instead serching it at waveform.
