Are you using the Soundcard output of the VMS ?

The VMS Crossfader is a real Hardware Crossfader in the Mixer section of the device. So you need to use the Soundcard of the VMS4 to hear it on your Master output signal.

If you are using an other Soundcard you need to remap the Crossfader from 'fake_crossfaer' to 'crossfader'. Now the internal Crossfader function of VDJ is active and you can use another Card for Soundoutput.

thanks jakovski

yes im using my pc soundcard and that command mapping of the crossfader & channel faders did work!! i still need to map channel 2&3 gains, mids, trebles and bass, also the pitch bends -+ on both decks. do you happen to know the commands?

thanks

Use the following actions:

Volume fader: volume (instead of fake_level)
EQ High: eq_high (instead of fake_eq_high)
EQ Mid: eq_mid (instead of fake_eq_mid)
EQ Low: eq_low (instead of fake_eq_low)

awsome almost there! 2 more probs:

1)pitch bends + - dont work on console
2)volume led fader meters doesnt light up on channel 2 & 3

thanks again youve been a great help!!

ok pitch bends work. in order for them to work i have to keep the button pressed continuosly. as far as the led volume fader meters its not really an issue but i would prefer them to light up. last problem is that the balance Left/Right on the center of the console doesnt work either?

may i ask why do you use the PC sound card instead of the VMS4 ASIO sound card?

btw, i think volume leds are not going to work, as there is no sound input to the VMS4 hardware mixer.

i use the pc soundcard instead of vms4 ASIO because i just have two speakers and the plug in cord doesnt fit in the console therefore i route it to the PC

You can buy an adapter. It will make your controller run better. The sound will go through the VMS4 hardware mixer, and it will work better.

Or buy a splitter, and route your speakers to master output of your VMS4 AND to your PC soundcard as well.

thanks for the advice djdad, i will invest in an adapter in the future. ive already mapped the vms4 controller so it will work without the vms4 soundcard. cheers

does anyone know how to map the following on the vms4 (i still route my speaker to the pc):

1)balance L/R
2)sliders L/R (adacent to the jog wheels) i want to map the sliders to scroll up/down through my playlist

Thank You in advance!
