I am new to this and i was talking to a dj that lives nearby and he showed me some work that he did. He took the beat of one song and the vocals of anther and blended them together. Is that possible with Virtual DJ?

yes, vdj has an effect in the effects bank that removes vocals or percussion accordingly.

^ not really good effect. if you really wanan do it right. you need the acapella from one and the instrumental from the other and then mash them.

as for instrumentals, google various dj pools and you will find them. and again, yes you will have to pay for most of them.
