Hi, has anybody had connection problems with the ADJ RADIUS 3000 in MIDI mode?
A tickets been raised but not sure if anyone else had the newer radius 3000 firmware?
We seem to be getting even more trouble now after the firmware updates on the radius3000. Now we can’t connect either 3000 up to Virtual DJ 7 pro.
Background- we have Virtual DJ Pro V7.0.4(b364) licenced with a serial number. We had 1x Radius 3000 with older firmware, this did work with VDJ intermittently. We purchased a second Radius 3000 which had a different newer firmware which didn’t seem to like connecting to the USB bus at all.
Peter has now kindly given us the above newer firmware that we have loaded onto both radius 3000 decks.
(con-11, ser-8, buf-7, dsp-22).
We are trying to get the radius 3000`s to work with Virtual DJ7 in MIDI mode.
The first issue seems to be getting the Radius drivers to load in correctly on the PC, before we start VDJ we look in device manager to make sure that “radius3000” is listed under “sound, video, game” in device manager. The second issue is once the radius3000 units are listed in device manager, we set them to midi mode and start up VDJ7 they are not seen/don’t work. We used to get the lights up and could use the folder knobs to navigate the album/track lists. Now nothing. The radius3000 just displays “midi1” and its all dark and doesn’t repond unless you jump out of midi mode.
The setup is 2x Radius3000, 1x Denon DNX1600 mixer in MIDI mode. + either of the laptops below.
We have:
1xDELL XPS420 desktop WIN7-pro, 64bit.
Drivers loads as “radius3000” – But not seen in VDJ
1xDELL XPSM1330 Laptop WIN VISTA ULT, 32bit.
Drivers loads as “unknown device” or “USB Composite device” occasionally loads as “radius3000” – But not seen in VDJ
1xACER Aspire 1410 Laptop WINXP, 32bit
Drivers loads as “unknown device” or “USB Composite device” occasionally loads as “USB Audio device” – But not seen in VDJ
1xACER Aspire One753 Laptop WIN7 Home Prm, - 64bit
Driver loads as “unknown device” occasionally loads as “radius3000” – But not seen in VDJ
So the drivers loading when you connect the Radius3000 to the PC seems to be much better and stable with WIN7 than WINXP, but having said that even when we have both Radius3000 decks listed in device manager under the audio section VDJ 7 refuses to see them. We tried the rescan many times and also set it to manual by unticking the “show connected devices” and choosing the Radius3000 from the drop down list.
On as side note the Denon DNX1600 has no problems with the USB bus or being seen/used in VDJ7. We are also connecting direct into the pc and not via a USB-HUB. We know it has been working before, just very unstable. Now we seem to have nothing?
Its worth noting that previously we were using VDJ 6.0.5 / VDJ7 and the older version of radius3000 firmware as listed in email below.
I don’t know what the problem is. Ive been trying everything I can for the last week now with no joy.
Please can you advise.

Hi,
just tried that still no joy.
when we rescan for devices we just get "simple midi mapper" and no Radius 3000.
2x Radius 3000 decks running latest firmware not seen in VDJ 7 pro.
on MidiTrace i get:
F0 7E 7F 06 02 00 01 70 20 0C 00 02 0B 00 00 00 F7
Looks like we need a new midi map thats newer than the link above?
Radius 3000 current/latest firmware is : con-11 ser-8buf-7 dsp-25 as supplied by AA
do we know if i can make up my own map with all the leds working etc?

Hi,
I had a similar problem. I have a Radius 2000 and a Radius 3000 and the 3000 sometimes fails to connect. I narrowed it down to the USB connection. I have my 3000 permanently fixed in a flight case now with a USB hub wired in and have had no problems for a while.
