Hello I have been using a HC4500 controller with a Denon X900 mixer which stops and starts the opposite deck. I just purchased a MC6000 and would like to set the crossfader to the same, start and stop the Rt & Lt decks. Not sure how to write the script usiing the 4 deck skin. Any suggestions Thanks DJBernieB

I assume that you mean fader start.
This is possible on the MC6000 providing that you use it in MIDI mixer (PC MIX) mode.
Simply map a key to the following to toggle fader start on/off:
fader_start ? deck 1 fader_start off & deck 2 fader_start off & deck 3 fader_start off & deck 4 fader_start off : deck 1 fader_start on & deck 2 fader_start on & deck 3 fader_start on & deck 4 fader_start on

Thanks for reply, I tried your script and the mc6000 crossfader became non-responsive although sliding the crossfader on the screen did start and stop the RT & LT Decks but, loaded the empty decks and started both deck 1&3 and then deck 2&4. I have defaulted the command back to crossfader and now when sliding the fader Rt to Lt the crossfader starts and stops again both Deck 1&3 and 2&4. For the record I'm using pc with W7 and VDJ 7 the MC 6000 is set to pc mix and the sound card is set to the headphone setting as in the instructions with the ASIO Sound Card, not sue about the A B THUR Switches. I appericate the help I count on the crossfader as a big tool when DJ'n

The advice was to map a KEY - a keyboard key of your chosing - to the script. Not to remap the crossfader.

I already have a keyboard key designated to crossfadefade RT to Lt, why have a mixer if I'm going to use the keyboard? Just figured there was a way to have the MC6000 do the work.

You only have to press the key once to turn the fader start function in VirtualDJ on. That's it. You never have to press it again unless you wish to turn it off again.
You could assign it to a button on the MC6000 that you don't use if you want.
NOTE: Fader start works on the volume faders, not the crossfader.

In the Denon MC6000 manual page 7 item 12 is described as the A-B Cross Fader this is the fader I would like to start & stop the decks 1-4, sorry for the confusion, just in my application I've using this fader for this function on the DNX900. Is there a work around for the MC6000, if there is could you write out the script, I'm not very good at the complicated mappings Thanks DJBernieB

You could try the following for the audio crossfader mapping:
crossfader & param_greater 0% ? param_smaller 100% ? deck left play & deck right play : deck left stop : deck right stop
If you use the MC6000 in hardware mixer mode (INT MIX), then make sure you set Crossfader in CONFIG -> Options to Disabled, otherwise you will fade the music out before it reaches the MC6000's mixer and you will not be able to headphone pre-listen from the MC6000.

Thanks for the help, I'm using the MC6000 in PCMode as suggested, the prelisten works and the A-B Crossfader stops and starts the decks this will make DJ'n much easier. DJBernieB

Just wanted to say I've been using the crossfader and it's works fine, didn't know if there was a way to write in command to smoothly fade from one deck to the other without hearing both songs durning the transition . As of now it immediately start the opposing deck then fades to stop. The MC6000 X Fader Countour knob seem to have no value on the fade contour and neither does VD7 when choosing either smooth, full or scratch only disable works. I tried changing the script using an assortment of verbs but no luck. Thanks for your help

see if this helps, If you want more than two decks just change "deck 1/2" for deck left/right"

You can adjust the audio crossfading curve via CONFIG -> Crossfader
NOTE: The above will only work when the MC6000 is used in PC MIX mode. If you are using it in INT MIX (Hardware mixer) mode, you should disable the crossfader in CONFIG -> Options, otherwise you will fade out the audio before it reaches the MC6000's mixer and will not be able to headphone pre-listen.

To anwser the teamer, those slections in VDJ > config> crossfader don't seem to have much effect only disable is noticeable, for the other link I'm still expermenting with the scripts but as of now no luck. the A-B Crossfader stops and starts the decks fine it just the blend is a little harsh even when lowering the volume before fading was hoping to add something to the script to do a smooth blend. Thanks DJBernieB

The curve settings will only take effect if you are using it in PC MIX mode (Switch on the back and Outputs: Headphones in VirtualDJ)
In hardware mixer (INT MIX) mode, Outputs: External Mixer in VirtualDJ) there is a crossfader curve knob on the front of the MC6000 that can be used to adjust the audio crossfader curve.

Hi Burn,
did you ever get a proper solution.
The HC4500 and a X500 had a crossfade start cable.
It worked this way:
left player playing
crossfader all the way to left
as fader is moved off of hard left side, right player would start. when crossfader hit hard right, left player would stop.
the solution that is put out by many gets there about 75% but still not quite the same.
crossfader & param_greater 0% ? param_smaller 100% ? deck left play & deck right play : deck left stop : deck right stop
this works great if you are playing one deck and are fading over to another. however for example
if you are hard right and the track ends. if you move crossfader towards the left it will start BOTH players.
is there anyway to detect direction of the crossfader?
