I make electronic music. It varies from experimental songs in 9/8, 7/8, and 5/4 time to dance music. I would like to start making mixes and sets and playing some music for people to dance to. It is a little daunting, though. I've been fooling around with my most straight-forward dance songs, trying to come up with a mix, but I'm finding it very difficult. I'm thinking that it might be easier with a physical set up, but I plan to peruse the forums further, see what I can find.

Well your music isnt.. mmm particulary straightforward. The thing with dance music is its predictability; 4/4, 16 bars repeating, predicatable. With 9/8, 7/8, and 5/4 you'll actually have people tripping over their own feet since they 'missed a beat'.
Besides that, you as a dj will be breaking ur fingers on it, cause it doesnt particulary give much room for 'spontanious mixing'
On the other hand, keep up being creative, I mean.. at first people must have thought dubstep was undancable as well :P
