Hi All, Might be the wrong section, but here goes,
Im using my dell xps m1330 to run vd7 with rmx controller, its great all good for a couple of hours in the bedroom untill laptop starts getting hot....the xps m1330 is known for this anyways no biggy....i done the heatsink mod so its cooler than most...however when the cpu and gpu temps start reaching the high 80's sometimes the sound gets a bit crackly with vdj
Ive been asked to a big birthday bash,ive always used vinyl but now i want to use vd7 .........i dont think this laptop can be trusted for 7 hours continuous.
Im going to buy a new laptop just to run vdj with nothing on it but music......the question is can anyone recommend something for around £2-300 ? something that wont run hot after hours ....is there some more recommended than others for use with vdj ? what do all you guys use ?

why not try one those LAPTOP FAN Coolers first. It might be cheaper and it might solve your heating problem.

checking them out now, not sure why i didnt think of that, think i was looking for an excuse to buy myself a shiney new laptop really !
