First of all thank for your help.
This weekend I came across a DJ-Tech Kontrol One MIDI controller for a cheap $50 @ the flee market so I took a chance on the thing, the build quality is better than I expected and for $50 you can't complain.
Anyway, I plugged it to VDJ and it shows up as an DJ-tech I-mix but the key labels are way off, for example the play bottom key label is pitch range so it makes things very confusing when your looking at the mapper and some of the buttons don't respond because they don't have key labels defined.
Anyway, I went into Device folder to see if I could see the definition file of the I-mix so I could change the key labels around and add some new ones but I don't see a file for it, so my question is...where can I find the file containing the definitions for the I-mix so I can change it around for the Kontrol One
Thanks again!

You'll be happy to know that you don't have to go through all that as it is now natively supported in the software! Simply download the latest version from your download center :) http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

Well I upgraded to newest version and I deleted my mapping file but VDJ still thinks I have an I-mix connected even though I have a Kontrol One, I can see the Kontrol One mapper if I un-click "show only connected devices" but VDJ does not see a Kontrol One connected only an I-Mix, how could I change this?
I'm assuming both the Kontrol One and I mix are using the same device ID causing my VDJ to mix up the controllers.

I just tried uninstalled VDJ completely and I installed the newest version and I still get the same results, VDJ keeps thinking that the Kontrol one is an I-mix.

I am sorry for bumping this topic, but i also bought 2 DJ-Tech kontrol one's NEW and can not get these to work on my colleage's machine who has VDJ 7 Pro.
We keep on getting the DJ-Tech I-Mix in the mappers tab. is there a way how i can fix this? i need to get my Kontrol one's to work on his machine to test them, so that i can buy VDJ Pro Myself. would love to hear something soon because i have a 14 day money back guarantee.
EDIT,
I tried the miditracer.exe and the kontrol one is recognized and when i use the buttons the software shows the keys.
so its working.
