I downloaded VirtualDJ 7.0.5b Home Free (b371) on a Windows 7 64bit Laptop with the latest ASIO 2+ drivers
I am running a Denon DN-X500 & Denon HC4500 with QSC Amp.
Sound Setup:
Input=None
Output=External Mixer (Deck 1: Chan 1&2 / Deck 2: Chan 3&4)
Soundcard: ASIO Driver / Denon DJ ASIO Driver
The laptop is connected via USB to the Denon.
Mappers:
Denon DN-HC4500 was detected and setup automatically.
VirtualDJ 7 warned me that support for the external mixer would be temporary (10 minutes)
I load a song in VirtualDJ and it functions perfectly in the software. I can do anything in the software that I want to do.. cue/play/mix. Everything I do is reflected on the Denon HC4500. I can see the songs playing in the displays, I can see the play button light up when the song is playing and I can see it blink when I pause the song.
The problem is that I can not control VirtualDJ from my HC4500 controller.
Please advise.

Oddly enough, turning off the HC4500 and turning it back on fixed it. ;)

Please update the firmware and drivers to the latest version from http://www.denondj.com

Home FREE does not support MIDI controllers and external mixers except for 10 minutes at a time as a trial of the full Pro. Also, Home FREE cannot be used for commercial purposes such as at a gig where you are being paid.
