Hello, maybe a silly question:
Whenever I delete a song in a folder, it jumps back to the top of the folder.
Is there a way to undo this, meaning, that it doesn't jump back to the top?
Sometimes when I have folders with more then 100 songs in it, it kind of sucks :(

What is your operating systems? you maybe suffering from "WINDOWS JUMP BUGS" it's sometime jump to the top of the list or the bottom. Maybe check the WINDOWS PANE or remove it to have a wider browser windows, if you are displaying huge list and if all doesn't fits on the screen the cursor jump to the beginning or the end of the list this where the bugs comes try to display it in LIST order and see what will happen if it doesn't work ask the windows technical support to help you or otherwise you have to format your computer and install new window OS.

Stievie,
how did you try to remove the song? If you did in the browser of VDJ you only remove the database-entry. If Auto-scan is on in Config/Options it will rescan your folder and put "new" entries on top.
If you want to remove a song, you have to remove it from the folder where the song is stored. If it's gone, you can delete the song from the browser in VDJ.

Just checked (It puts the file into hte recycle-bin, so I could put it back):Right-click on the song, choose File Operations, Delete. It will ask if you're sure. On Yes it did remove the song AND the database-entry.

I tried to hide the browser panel, but it stays the same...
I did zoom the search part to entire screen so all the songs fit in the screen without having to scroll.
When I did that, it cannot jump to bottom or top cause both are visible on screen...
It's only the case when there are more songs in a folder then there can fit on screen...
Going to sleep now, but tomorrow I'll try to ask Window Support if they can help, but if they can't I guess i will have to leave it as it is, cause i don't feel like formatting my computer...

I know this Martin ;)
I do it this way (in VDJ) to organize the music on my hard disk... Because I find it the easy way :)
After that is done, I'm going to buy another external disk to back up my music library
(because the one I have now, has some flaws, and I think it's corrupt)

Before I go to bed, I did some quick googling about the issue and I found this...
Read trough it (also very quickly) and came to this conclusion: NOT VERY PROMISING :)
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/windows-explorer-expands-folders-inappropriately/50a81b05-da98-4d55-821d-55ffbbd0e998
Will take another look tomorrow, to see if there are ANY solutions, if not (very likely), I guess I'm stuck with that forever...
But anyway thanks for the answers ;)
If there are some people with the same issue, and got it fixed, please feel free to enlighten me (and us).
If I woud get it fixed myself, I will be glad to do the same.

Hi Stievie, I have same issues of "WINDOWS JUMP BUGS" on the previous version windows OS and i did some tweaking on it, i just can't remember and replicate what i did as it was long time back and forget those steps. You can try reformatting your laptop and installed the new windows OS or you can download some of the updates of your Window OS at the Windows sites updates area.

Ok, hours have passed, zillion pages been looked at, but I cannot seem to find a solution...
It's not that easy to discribe the problem in a few words so google understands me.
I did discover that it ONLY happens in VDJ, not in my Windows Explorer.
All of the sites and "answers" I've seen, they all have to do with the explorer in my OS.
But I don't have any problems there, at least not that I know of.
I tried to do the same (deleting a file in a big folder) in my windows explorer but then there is no "JUMP ISSUE"
I'm guessing it has something to do with VDJ itself, so there should be someone out there with the same problem.
Or maybe they don't understand me :))
For now it seems that I'm stuck with it, and have to sort my files by name and then see where i last was, and then scroll back to the last point...
Not practical, but it will have to work...

Maybe an idea for a work-around: I don't do any actions on my workdrive besides adding songs. If properly tagged and / or renamed it will show if the file already exists in the folder where I want to put the song (depending on genre, timeframe or album). Therefor I never have to delete a song. And some doubles.... Well, let's call that a backup ;)

I'm kind of new to the wonderfull digital world of dj-ing...
In the years before that, I collected lots and lots of music. Now that I'm starting again with the dj-ing thing, i tought let's start with the beginning and sort out my library. There are songs with no titles, songs with only numbers, songs without genres, the tags are all screwed up, after using so many different mediaplayers in the past, and backing it up so many times.
Doubles, I would sign for that, some of my songs i have 10 times, wich takes a lot of space :))
There's so much musiic on my hard drive, that it's probably gonna take me a thousand years to get it all fixed...
But that's another topic my guess :))

Yes This is how VDJ reacts. It also does this if you search for a song and you go back to the folder you were in before it will jump to the top. This has been requested in the Wishes section from other users so you are not alone and it isn't a Windows thing.

If you have that much to fix, you may want to look at another program for managing your library, like MediaMonkey. It fix's tags and finds duplicates.
