I'm testing out the Home version of VDJ before I buy it. I've got my Audio 8 plugged in, along with my Traktor Control Discs for my 2 Pioneer CDJ 800s. VDJ recognizes the CDs and I can start/stop tracks but I can't seem to skip back to the beginning of a video. All I can do is stop and start.
I downloaded the VDJ Timecode CDs and actually can't get them to work at all. Perhaps because it's running through my Audio 8?
Is it possible to go back to the beginning of the track somehow using Traktor CDs, and, how can I cue the track when I pause it? On that note, I can't hear any audio once a video is paused. With music, I hear a continuous quick loop of where I am so I can position the cue. I hope I'm clear!
Actually, I lied, one more question. The crossfader on my Pioneer mixer I'm doing only controls the audio. So, when I need to crossfade the videos, do I have to do it with the virtual crossfader in the software? I'm guessing yes since my physical crossfader is manipulating only the output. If I wanted to get a physical crossfader to tie into VDJ, how would I do that?
I'm also noticing audio popping when a video is playing. Is that a latency issue?
Thanks! All of this is to see if I can get by on Timecode CDs or if I need to buy a controller.

Try burning and then using VirtualDJ timecode CD's rather than the Traktor ones:
http://www.virtualdj.com/products/timecode/cd.html
For information on configuring timecode, please see:
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20do%20I%20configure%20my%20timecode.html
Make sure that the timecode is also set to either smart (Default) or absolute mode. In relative mode it will not be able to change song position.
Your mixer will only be able to control the video crossfader in VirtualDJ if it is MIDI capable. Most traditional hardware DJ mixers are not, but some more recent models such Pioneer DJM-700 and DJM-800 are. If it is MIDI capable, then you will need to map it to the action video_crossfader - See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20do%20I%20map%20my%20MIDI%20controller.html
Audio popping, clicks, stutters and similar issues are caused by performance issues with your computer and or incorrect configuration in VirtualDJ. Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html
Purchasing a MIDI controller would be recommended because this can interface with and control the software directly. Timecode can only control song playback, but a MIDI controller can be mapped to control almost any function of the software of your own choice (E.g: Effects, samples, file browsing, etc.) Some MIDI controllers also support display of song information from VirtualDJ, such as song time, BPM, pitch %, artist/title, etc. You can even map a knob or button to video crossfade if your mixer isn't MIDI capable.
