Just upgraded hard drive on my Dell E6410 Latitude.
I had 640GB Samsung HM641JI which had worked flawless for years.
I was running low on space so I upgrade to a 1TB Western Digital WD10JPVT.
Ever since I upgraded I intermittently get the following issue.
When loading a song onto a deck ( happens on both decks) a get a pause / freeze
for 1 - 2 seconds before track loads.
Music which is playing is not affected.
Both drives are 5400 RPM 3.0GB SATA drives with 8MB cache each.
I've defragged new drive, and problem persist.
I've also verified power settings, and drive is set to NEVER power down.
Any ideas what else I can try?

This is caused by the external drive - Please see our FAQ pages:

Not the case for me.
I went from single 640GB internal, to a single 1TB internal drive.
I do not use external drives.
Only thing that has changed was capacity of drive.

An internal drive could also exhibit the same behaviour depending on the power management settings in its firmware, especially if it is one of the 'green' power saving drives.
Some drive manufacturers may provide a utility that allows you to adjust and/or disable this.
The problem could also be database related - Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/I%20get%20an%20error%20message%20saying%20that%20my%20database%20is%20corrupted.html
It could also be related to the size of files that you are loading (E.g: Large video file vs small audio MP3 file.)
