Topic: Virtual DJ & Bose Companion 5

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I am currently using the Home edition of Virtual DJ to test this out before I purchase the pro version. When I go to config I click Headphones (dual soundcards) then click more.

Under Outputs I select Master first, Headphones second. Under sound card i select 2 cards, first being Bose USB Audio and second being Built-in Output. Testing with the home edition is fine because it says it will keep the settings for 10 minutes.

When I play music, however, the audio quality coming out of the bose speakers is absolutely terrible (it is fine coming out of the headphones). When I select the simple/no headphones option using only the bose usb audio, the sound quality is fine.

I'm not sure what I should do to fix the audio quality with two sound cards. I have 2 gigs of ram, 2.4ghz processor, and mac osx 10.6.8

When I follow the steps in the FAQ the following happens:
-I can change the settings on the internal speakers to the ones mentioned in the FAQ
-The bose companion 5 speaker settings can not be altered ( http://minus.com/mbj8bx5c7x/ )

Does this mean that these speakers are incompatible with vdj?

Some sound cards don't support setting different rates. If this is the case, then yes, they are incompatible with each other.

If they aren't set the same bit rate, sample rate and latency, you will get distortion and synchronisation issues.

Your best option is to purchase a proper dedicated multi-channel DJ sound card such as Numark DJIO, etc. If you wish to output the sound through your computer speakers, simply use a suitable cable (Normally 2x RCA to 3.5 jack) to connect the master outputs of the DJIO or similar sound card to the line input of your Mac. Plug your headphones into the DJIO itself.
