Topic: Pioneer WeGO keeps crashing VDJ! - Page: 1

Dieser Teil des Themas ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten

Hello all-

Just wondering if anybody else has a Pioneer controller that is problematic with VDJ. I have been running a Hercules 4MX along with a Midi Fighter on VDJ Pro for well over a year with no problems with audio or crashing. This week I got Pioneer WeGO and have had a problem where the unit and VDJ will be working great... but then out of nowhere the audio slows down dramatically (almost to a stop) and sounds timestretched. When I try to close VDJ to restart it, the program does not respond even if I try to use Windows Task Manager to close it. I have to do a hard restart of my computer to close the program. When the crashes happen, I'm not even using any effects... it's happened out of a mix, one song playing. The bar up top in VDJ that shows CPU usage is not even close to 1/4 up, far from yellow and red. My antivirus is off, wifi and bluetooth off, all other programs are off aside from Game Booster 3. These same setting and my older controllers worked fine! It's frustrating and I'm baffled. Crashing twice in one hour isn't gonna fly at a gig!

I'm wondering if there is anything I'm overlooking... I have followed all of the steps on the optimization page we have here on the VDJ forums, even reinstalled VDJ Pro to the latest version. Is it a Pioneer thing? I tried an Ergo out and couldn't even get sound out of the unit without having the audio slow and timestretched like when it crashes with a WeGO. I returned it soon after just to save myself a headache... I just figured the WeGO would run smoother, as VDJ is the only software it's advertised to be used with (although I understand it is a MIDI controller).

I'm running Windows 7, VDJ 7.2, and the latest firmware of Pioneer WeGO. HALP!

I'm sorry to hear that is happening, especially because I am eying the WeGo too!

I've done quite a bit of audio production over the years, and the way you described the crash, "Sounds time stretched", sounds like a ASIO driver crash to me.

I would try going into the WeGo's control panel on your computer (assuming there is one), and RAISING the buffer settings to the next setting above where they currently are. (This is the setting that usually looks like a number followed by ms. IE: 4ms latency. Repeat until you experience no more crashes (or its too high a setting to be useful for DJing :(

I would also mirror these changes within VDJ's settings as well. Enabling Safe Mode might also help.

I was having lots of crashes with some new plug in's that I was using in my studio, and it turns out I was trying to push too much audio at too low a settings. A simple 2ms switch up fixed it all for me!

How you have better luck regardless,

Schmidi

I picked up the wego about 2 weeks ago. I have not had the issue you describe although I am using XP and the firmware that was already on the unit.

I'm picking up a MacBook pro during the week so I can use the we go with videos as I am having an issue with it when playing videos but I believe that to be related to XP. My fingers are crossed I won't have the issue your experiencing when I upgrade to the Mac with win 7.

Thanks for your input guys... I adjusted the parameters in the WeGO's ASIO setup and updated the firmware on for the controller, there is an update for it on the Pioneer site. Played for an hour so far, no crashes. Fingers crossed of course!

Edit: Damn, it crashed again... about an hour and a half in:/

Just finished a 5 hour set using the wego with club #2 XP and Radeon graphic card and Vdj 7.2..no issues whatsoever.

What graphic card do you use? I've had audio issues on 2 different XP computers when mixing videos. Both computers have nvidia cards (different models). Makes me now wonder if it's the Nvidia cards.

I mix only audio. I messed around with the ASIO settings again last night, and was able to play for over 6 hours twice since without a crash. I have a little bit more latency now than before (I WAS using the recommended ASIO setting that it is set up with upon installation), but it's not so bad. Definitely not as bad as a crash mid set. Going to test it out for a few days to make sure the chance of crashing at my weekly gig is less likely to happen!

I used a Wego for the 1st time on Friday evening with a mac book pro. It worked fine with no glitches,
although the output was a little quiet with the Master up to about 3 o'clock....
Is there a feature in VDJ to get a touch more volume out of the controller
(Powered Speakers were at 2 o'clock as normal) thanks

Gary, I'm hoping the same thing... also the headphone volume could use more power too. It's more than enough for for home use, but I can see it being problematic in a really loud environment.

Otherwise, this controller is excellent! Even though it's cheaper than my 4MX, the feel of all the controls and jogwheels is quite an improvement.

^ I totally agree, nice pice of kit, funky, lightweight and ticks most of the boxes. I use a Numark NS6 for weddings and adult parties, but decided to get the Wego for children's parties and school discos where I don't need as much kit and only working for 2 hours. It was professional enough but I had it in 6th gear and was looking for more power!!!! Is there an output config on VDJ that gives more output/ sound? Cheers

my wego works pretty good, had one crash earlier due to me using too many effects and cpu overload lol. however i have a problem with pre-listen cueing, it only works if i use Pioneer DDJ WeGO ASIO, if i use sound card i get no pre-liste cueing on my headphone but i can hear music playing fine

Unfortunately, lower output volumes are due to it being USB powered. This was the case on the Twitch and a number of other bus powered, all-in-one controllers. It's the price paid for the convenience of one cable audio and power :(

Other than that, I think the WeGo has an amazing feature set for its size!

Hello, I purchased the Pioneer WeGO recently, It worked well with the bundled Virtual Dj LE software, the WeGO came with firmware V1.04. after updating to V1.05, whenever I start-up Virtual Dj LE I keep getting an error message about Asio sound card configuration and stuff and it will not play, this was never an issue before the update. whenever I choose a different audio configuration set-up it doesn't work correctly with the WeGO, for instance the head phone cueing is not possible with another sound set-up. I've tried re-installing the Asio drivers and that doesn't work, I've visited Pioneer's support website to see if I could re-install the previous firmware, but that's not available....is there anyway to solve this problem ? thanks.

I'm running Windows 7 ultimate.

Thank you very much .

I have a DDJ wego running on a Macbook Pro. I gig 6 or 7 days a week and I have about 2 or 3 crashes a month where the controller either stops responding or the audio just shuts off of Virtual Dj Pro. The only way to fix it when it happens is to open the LE version to get the controller working again and then when I go back to Pro I have to re enter my serial number and it resets all of my settings. In the middle of a show this is a nightmare. One that I have experienced 5 or 6 times now.

Guys is the happening with the latest 7.3 version?

My wego works flawlessly with vdj and traktor

Hey guys. Please I need some help with my wego.im running my wego with traktor pro 2.6.0, all tsi files, firmware etc up to date from pioneer support site .all buttons and knobs working except one thing: can't listen to the cued track in my headphones without running it through speakers. Example: all volume up, no sound, except when I engage the headphones button on the wego, the track goes straight into speakers. Turn the headphones button off , and cuts completely the sound off. When 2 deck r running, the cue/mix knob acts like a crossfader, and the actual crossfader works too??! It seems that it does everything upside down. I've tried and changed all settings in the preferences in internal output the master, monitor etc, but nothing..if its any help my hardware set up is:wego connected with the laptop through usb, from wego l/r output into the mixer, headphones pluged into mixer. Please , please help!! Thanks a million guys.
