I use VDJ8 with the Numark NV controller. I have deck 1 assigned to channel 2, deck 2 assigned to channel 3 and my samples assigned to channel 4. The volume sliders on these 3 channels I use work fine. However, the gain knobs on channels 2 & 3 work fine but on channel 4 (the samples channel) the gain has no effect at all. Is there any way I can get the gain knob working on channel 4 as it does on 2 & 3.

I could be wrong but I believe when running samples on a deck the gain will NOT work.
Like I said I could be wrong but I believe this happened to me in the past and I think that was explanation I was given.

There is no "sampler_gain" action to match with the gain action of a track/deck, so the GAIN knobs will not do anything if the channel is assigned to Sampler. You will need to use the Sampler Editor to manually assign the Gain of each Sample.

There is an overall sample output volume you could use. Far better than having to edit and resave all your samples.

Thanks for your help guys. I will just have to accept there is no sampler gain on the channel. At least I now won't have to lose any more days trying to look for something that isn't there!

You might be able to assign the sampler master volume to the channel 4 gain, and use the sampler group volumes to control the individual samples.

as said by bigron, map the command on the controller options: sampler_volume_master , on the gain knob of 4 channel,
