Hi guys
I've been lurking here a while, I'm pretty new to the world of Digital DJing. I started mixing vinyl in the mid to late 90's but gave it all up to become a full time dad, I am now back (With a grown up son) and still finding my feet with modern technology.
After six months of learning I am now to a competent enough level & I know I will improve further once I stop thinking like I'm mixing vinyl and embrace the massive possibilities VDJ delivers. So I guess the only thing that is holding me back is me (Still feels weird not crouching down to a box of vinyl between tracks). But I'm sure I will get there in the end.
Anyway enough of my boring rambling: My question is pretty simple, I started out by buying the Pioneer DDJ Wego 3 and wanted to do more so upgraded to the Pioneer DDJ SR, which is awesome by the way.
Basically when using the browser knob on the Wego 3 you could simply press the knob in & it expanded the song list to make it easier to find tracks, it was something I did all the time but now on the SR this function doesn't seem to work.
my question is can I somehow turn this feature on with the SR myself or do I have to somehow map it ?
I have googled this question & used the search function but cannot find the answer, unless I am using the wrong terminology which is possible.
Being honest I'm no IT expert so mapping is something that sounds like only clever people do, So I'm hoping its something simple.
Thanks for your time in reading my post

when you say "expanded the song list" do you mean browser zoom? meaning it shrunk the bits at the top and made the song browser bigger so more tracks show? or do you mean it expands the folder you have highlighted to show you the songs in that folder?
If you mean bowser zoom, then there is an icon which does this on the left hand side near the bottom of the skin (default skin) and you can map any button to that very easy

Reading your message again I think you mean browser zoom. So, assuming the dial on your controller is able to have something mapped to its push function. Then find the icon on the skin which does browser zoom. It's on the left near the bottom. Then open options-controllers and select your controller. Push the button you want to map, and then it will either show you what is currently mapped to that button or it will show nothing. Then click the little eye dropper icon at the bottom and then select the browser zoom button on the skin. That should be it. Though if you just started to type browser in the box it would probably come up as an option anyway. Not at my machine at the minute.

Cool, hope it works. With that eye dropper thing, you can basically press any button, on controller or keyboard, and then click the eye dropper, and then click the button on the skin that you want the hardware button to replicate.

Out of curiosity i took a look at the manual for the SR, just because I figured there would already likely be a function for the push on the encoder, which you might not want to lose by re-mapping it. Having looked, it seems the option already exists to use it for browser zoom. You need to hold shift and then push the encoder in and that will toggle browser zoom. You could always map another button to do it though as well. The manual link is below, might be worth going through it.

Hi Andy
Didn't get the chance last night as other things got in the way, Now I look dumb lol
I somehow was using a manual from this site for the SR but somehow the one I was using is different to that one......Only I can do this kind of thing. It is only a minor gripe but something I often use as I mainly use a laptop and the screen isn't that great. a new one is on my shopping list.
Thanks again,
