Topic: Hercules deejay trim 4&6 problem

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Is there anybody that has one that can help me? I bought the hercules deejay trim 4&6 scratch starter kit and for some reason vdj doesn't see the soundcard. I installed the latest drivers 5.99 (2018). I'm running a macbook pro OS X yosemite. I can run other devices such as an external hard drive and midi controllers. But for some odd reason i can't use it with dvs. It's not shown on the audio tab.

If you dont see a special button in the Audio tab of VirtualDJ, this doesnt mean that you cant use it. Unless its not showing up in Audio Midi Setup either (from Applications-->Utilities .. does it ??)
If it does, then you could manually create an Audio setup in VirtualDJ, something similar to ..
Deck 1... Hercules Trim .. Chans 1,2
deck 2... Hercules Trim .. Chans 3,4
(or Master & Headphones instead of deck 1 and deck 2)
and optionally add inputs , if you are using DVS
timecode 1 .. Hercules Trim.. Chans 1,2
timecode 2 ... Hercules Trim.. Chans 3,4

See here.. http://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj8/settings/audiosetup/timecode.html

It's not showing in the audio midi setup. It's not even showing in the usb tree (hardware section in system information). Although the usb hubs on the box are working (I have 2 akai afx controllers connected). Could the deejay trim be defected?

What if its connected directly to a USB port (and not hub) , or is there no external hub ?
Did the drivers get installed properly ?
Check Hercules.com , i believe there should be a document/guide to troubleshoot proper connection. Will also post here if i find something.

EDIT... Found this https://support.hercules.com/en/kb/2374-en/
Seems you need a USB 3.0 hub, at least to detect it properly in first place, and after that, it will work without it. but not sure if this is your case.
Best would be to contact Hercules Support. I am sure they will have a solution/workaround, at least to find out if your hardware is good or not.

The box is connected directly to the mac. I also tried plugging it in via a usb 3.0 hub and no luck. But the hubs on the box itself work as i have connected 2 afx and an external hard drive as vdj seems them. VDJ nor my mac detects it. Also in the deejay trim utilities the firmware is N/A. My macbook pro is 17 inch early 2011 with 3 usb 2.0 ports. I believe that link is for macs with usb 3.0 ports. I have a Rane SL3 that works great with vdj. But wanted to use the trim with dvs and make use of the usb hubs at the same time.

See if the sound-card works on a different computer. If it doesnt, its a faulty hardware. If it does, contact Hercules.

I tried it on my gf computer and it doesn't work. It ''sees'' it as unknown device even when i installed the latest drivers. I'll try to contact hercules support to see if they can help me on this. Thanks for your help djdad.
