Last weekend I was hired by another company for a gig and they had a DJ booth with a Pioneer DJM en CDJ set. So The only thing I needed was a RekordBox USB stick.
Because I'm having an almost 3Tb music collection, I wanted to use my VDJ laptop, since Rekordbox can't handle this sizes and folders...
So I plugged in my Rekordbox USB stick as backup and my VDJ laptop connected to the set with USB cables.
After playing for about 2 hours, a technician guy walking around, disconnecting al cables from the outdoor party that took place that afternoon. Suddenly he unplugged the power cable to my DJ booth!! So the DJ set went completely black-out, but my VDJ laptop kept playing on the battery :)
After 2 seconds the guy realises that was the wrong one and plugged the power cable back in. What do you think?
The moment the DJM mixer came back alive... I heared my music playing on... VDJ recognized the DJM again? and kept on playing without a problem!!
I just needed to manual link the 2 CDJ's again, because the CDJ's didn't link itself with usb/midi when powered back on. When I linked the CDJ's again everything was ok without having to restart VDJ or whatever!!
I know for sure I could not have done this so fast with a Rekordbox USB stick! And with Rekordbox USB this power outage could even damage/corrupt the usb stick...
So I hope you will never have this kind of issue, but now I'm even more confident with VDJ in any place!!
APPLAUSE!!

The Denon SC5000 media players have a "pulled plug" safety feature where they'll keep on playing with no power, and pop up a warning on screen. Funny how it's taken so many years for (some) pro hardware to implement a feature like that.
