I can't seem to fix this issue. I noticed that at times the audio seems to distort/skip when I am playing music. It seems to happen when I do a sound effect like flanger, but then again it happens at random times. I also use an external hard drive. Below are the specs for my computer.

There's no such thing.
The most likely cause for this type of problem is too small an ASIO buffer. What's yours set at? You should try increasing it.
