Topic: Post-fader effects on 72 not audible, and software isn't telling mixer the effects are on

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

There are still a couple problems with post-fader effects on the 72.

Firstly, they are not audible (including with paddles on), if they are activated through the VDJ GUI or `padfx` command, only if they are activated using the 72 buttons. Setting the effects to pre-fader fixes both.

Secondly, when effects are activated in the software (eg, GUI or padfx), the associated buttons don't light up on the mixer. This means the buttons do not light up, and if you hit the effect button on the mixer, it tries to turn the effect on again, and you have to hit again to turn the effect off. Setting the effects to pre-fader doesn't fix this.

Yes, that's pretty much known limitations of Rane Seventy Two firmware.
Unfortunately we can't do much to improve all this, unless we ditch post-fader effects all together (which is not something we want) or hardware controlled effects (which is also something we don't want)

PS: When we say "firmware limitations" we mean the way firmware handles the audio and FX processing. That's because the firmware is not just sending/receiving MIDI commands, but also works in parallel based on the input of the controls to manipulate effects with a different logic than the one used by VirtualDJ.

Sorry for wasting your time, I should have checked Serato - has exactly the same bug!
