Title says it all actually, but is there a way to save the 'modified list' to a text file?

You can output the browser view to csv or pdf in a couple of clicks .....

no you can't directly but they are easily detectable in "settings.xml"
they are all tagged as modified="yes"
i.e.: with notepd++ search and mark lines matching the following regex (do not forget to tick "match newlines"):
<([^ /]+) modified=\"yes\">.+</\1>
then copy marked lines and past in a new text file and you are done
