I'm trying to do a Podcast and I got my microphone to work but I can't get the music to play. You can hear the music through the microphone but if I turn the microphone off you can't hear the music.

What is your gear setup and sound setting in VirtualDJ?
Perhaps you have set a "Record" entry in VirtualDJ to microphone? (record entry in sound setting, will record that sound only)

That depends on where the mic is connected. Assuming its a "basic" computer microphone (connected directly to the computer), then do as the link below : https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj/settings/audiosetup/microphone.html
(and remove any record entry in VDJ sound settings if you have this added)
