Topic: Processor Speed?
Is the 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1255U, 1700 Mhz fast enough to handle stem separation (not live) without damaging the computer?

yes, clock speeds don't mean so much any more, but a 12th gen should handle stems fine.

Live stems processing is done by the GPU.. and "recommended min requirements for 2.0 stems" mentions:

-----------------------------
Additional for stems 2.0

Windows 10 64-bit or newer
NVIDIA video card (GTX 1050 or above with 4GB VRAM, RTX with 6GB VRAM recommended)
or AMD video card (Radeon RX 5600 XT or better)
----------------------------

Its the GPU and VRAM that are of importance for stems live processing.
And CPU processing of stems can be used for preparing saved stems files to disc, if GPU is not fast enough, or has enough VRAM.

Good evening. I have a Dell XPS 15 9520. The processor is a 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900HK, 2500 Mhz, 14 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s). It has 64 gig of RAM. Video card is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU.

I thought it would allow me to run Stems 2 "on the fly" but it makes me drop to the lesser quality. I so seem to be able to do the better stems if I preload files into stems before a gig, but I am hoping there may be a suggestion someone has to allow me to do on the fly. Thanks in advance for your help

The 3050Ti isn't great and the stems performance will depend how much vram it has as stated above.

Thanks- have noticed that on a limited basis it take sabout 60 % of resources.
