I had everything running just fine when I tested the lap top with the Gigaport AG soundcard, however, when I took it to the first gig only static came out and it came out without volume on. It just sent static through the wires.
Any suggestions???

Did this "static" come out also when you run with your bateries only? (unplugged from the electrical outlet)

Is audio connected to an external Amplifier? or you use PC lousdpeakers directly?

The laptop was hooked up to an external amp. I have used it a couple times in different loations and everything works, but every once and a while it will hiss when I plug it in. I have no idea why it works sometmes and not others. Any suggestions????

Check audio wires, perhaps static comes from them. Also use ground connection if you can

Use a ground connection. The one that you make the 3plug into 2 they sell it at the 99cent stores
