i can connect my extérnal drive in 2 ways - USB or firewire ,What is better - i think that i have read somewere that usb take more power from the computer than firewire
and the firewire is built on the SCSI protocol.

this is a argument as old as the hills lol
on paper usb tranfers data faster
but in pratise its belived that firewire is faster
they will both take the same amount of power
as thats the minimum needed for the device to run :)

It's always been my policy to put the drive on a different buss than the sound card if possible.
If you have a usb sound card, run the drive on firewire.
May be a little old school now a days, but a safer way to insure un interrupted data streaming.
