What is the best option to play a list so I can take a break ? I mixed some MP3 tracks together for an extended play but there has to be a better method. I have to play like an hour's worth of dinner music for a reception and I do not want to be loading tracks to each deck the entire time.
Please help me with this task .
Thank you in advance.

use the playlist
funtion on the side of the music window and set it to automaticaly load songs for you
in the main options
that way u can mix as usual
if u need a break for about 10 mins activate the automix feature by pressing the star at the top of the playlist window :)

Make sure you are as close ot the loo as possible - they have this habit in most drinking establishments, school halls, village halls and places like that to locate you at one end and the loo at the other - meaning you take about ten minutes to walk across the hall, go to the loo, have a gypsy's, and then get back.
Play a 12" mix or something while you do it.

I like the idea of putting any 3 looooong tunes into the play list and setting it on auto. That way you can pick 3 tunes that you know will fit the crowd you are playing to and also have time to let the wee wee have a pee pee. (LMAO) All the previous ideas are good too. Just choose the one that fits you the best or come up with your own with a combination of what is here.
As for dinner music, pick a ton of tunes, like 2 hrs worth and make a list. Put the list on auto and forget about it until its time to kick it. I used to pick the most boring tunes for dinner, almost like, very close to funeral music. Play that and when it comes time to kick it, you will shine.
Here is a thought. Get some elevator music and play that. Can't go wrong with Muzak as background music. Its all instrumental I think.
Keep the beat sweet

the bucketheads - the bomb. 14 minutes is plenty of time to go for a slash. or sugarhill gang - rapper's delight.

And if everybody elses ideas don't work for you (though they should), you could always pre record a mix in preperation of an event with 3 or 4 songs (as one track) to play while you take a break. I don't do gigs yet, but I practice about 4 hours every day so I usuualy need to take a quick break for the same reason. Inorder to keep the music going as I would if it was a gig, I load a mix cd on my gemini cdj-15x cd player and let it play a couple songs before I return back to the mixing.
There's a ton of options really, hope you find the one that works best for you;^]

Used to use the long version of Mr Vain in the 90s. Just gave enough time to get there and back.
Couldn't talk to anyone on the way back, though.

the bucketheads was my pick too
or
you could just hide behind your decks and use a bottle.

And a big opening :D
I'm lucky enough with my regular haunt, I'm about 20 seconds from the toilet and about 40 from where you smoke... I just make sure I have all them things out of the way before the place gets too packed...
As a FYI, I played for 8 hours for a party on a Ferry, only went for one toilet break and didn't go for a smoke (other than the sneaky one while in the toilet)
Just don't drink too much :)
