Topic: Big Problems w/ VDJ 4.1r2/Hercules MK2/TCV's

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Aight,

I downloaded VDJ 4.1r2 the other day, and went ahead and reinstalled windows for good measure. Get everything installed, opened up, and running. I had no problems for about an hour, and was loving the new interface (looks great) and playing with the new loops and effects setup (another awesome job!), and then....

all hell breaks loose.

I've been through so much with it the last couple of days trying to get everthing working again, that I don't really remember how it crapped out, but this is where I'm at...

I can't seem to get a timecode signal. Sometimes I'll get about 50%, but only for a second. The animated turntables on the skin move when I put the needle to the TC's, but the little signal indicator doesn't show a signal. When I go into the setup and look at the advanced view of the actual signal the computer is receiving from the TC's, it's all over the place. When I take the needle off the records, the right side signal goes flat (as would be expected), but the left one starts out flat on the right side of the signal window, but splits as it approaches the left, with the green line sloping up and the red sloping down (kind of forming a V laid on its left side). When the needles are on the TC's, the signals appear there, but don't look too clean. Music will play out of both of them also, but the signal running across the top of the interface for both decks is glitchy, as is the sound. Scratching the records in completely unsmooth. It sounds like a latency issue, but I've got all the performance specs set to the lowest settings (and it has never been a problem before).

Now, I'm fairly sure that my needles and turntables didn't crap out on me at the same time, so I'm now leaning toward the Hercules MK2 possibly being the culprit. I've installed/reinstalled the drive at least ten times (and VDJ a couple too) with no help. I've thought about reflashing the firmware in the Hercules, but I'm not sure how to do this, or if the driver does this when it is installed.

Some other notes:

I went through the forums earlier today and tried to optimize the performance so that it eats up as little CPU as possible. Some things I did here:
1.No enhanced master tempo
2.No safe mode
3.No overclock
4.Went with "fastest" vs "best quality"
5.And made sure to set Hercules to External Mixer and ASIO after starting up VDJ

Other settings:
-Input--Use two timecodes
-Output--2ch External Mixer Mode in VDJ settings
-I've tried using ASIO mode and Hercules mode
(I also tried the writeup someone posted here, but that didn't work at all)

Computer Specs:
1.8GHz w/ 512MB RAM
I'm not so worried about the computer specs because VDJ 3 worked great, as well as VDJ4 for about an hour.

Anyway, hope this isn't too much info, but I'm at a real loss here, and it really sucks just listening to music without being able to play with it on the turntables. I need my VDJ!!!! All help will be greatly appreciated.

Now it's time for a few beers and a few tunes to forget this mess for awhile :)

Thanks,
cobbs
