Topic: About to Install v4.1 rev2

I've been using VDJ 3.2 for ages, I tried 3.4 but it keept crashing.

However, I've bought a new PC and 3.4 works OK, but does crash every so often.

I've downloaded the updates, but havn't dared install them because the skin and the way it works was too different (until v4.1 rev2) because I used to have the visual effects and pictures on the screen alot.

However I think it's about time I installed v4.1 rev2 from 3.4. I will have to get used to the way the visuals and pictures work or go without some of the old features. But can you save me some headache?
What do I need to do? Do I need to back up my database in some way so I don't need to re-analyse all the music ?

Also I've got a NU04 mixer. Had it a couple of month's but not had the time to try it out. Is there a guide on how to get it to work with VDJ anywhere?

Cheers
Gaz

Great! That looks like it will help. Thanks.

But it looks like it might take a while!!!

Same with setting up the FS2 Amp as an ASIO sound card and the NU04 mixer. I can see a couple of late nights ahead :(

howdy
i dont have my copy open now but
basicaly i think ur mixer may be natively supported in vdj 4 so u can simply tick , that device on

if not

u need to map the midi signals to keys , u can do this from the midi section of the remote control

as for ur amp im not sure will keep looking

So far so good.....
But what do the little orange circles next to some of the MP3s on my song list mean ?

I know a little green V is a video, and a little K is Karaoke (whch to me looks like the video symbol if you don't look close which is annoying). and a red circle with a black cross if it's been played.

Thanks for your help so far.

orange is the software advising you not to mix the songs together as it will be difficult

this is only a warning

you can still play these files but its recommended you do not use atomix mode with them

Cool. Everything's working I think (just need to plugg my hercule's MK1 Console in to see if that still works?).

I havn't got a clue where to start with The NU04 mixer? I've loaded some midi controll thing, and the green light is lit up in VDJ config when I go to controller's. But that's all. None of the button's do anything. It's going to be something really simple in the end.
Cheers.

OK just done my 1st gig with v4.1 rev2 however, the video's are useless. They are way more "Jerky" than before.

I used to be able to play a video and put the next one on a loop before bringing it in. Now when I try both video's go jerky. It's like having the strobe effect on constantly. Is there a setting I need to alter.

Apart from that everything else is great. The PC is brand new, 3.4 Pentium dual core, plenty of memory, decent graphics card etc... Like I say it used to play OK in 3.4 and just go jerky sometimes. Now with v4.1 rev2 it seems to go jerky on just about every video :(

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I will see how it goes tonight. 18th Birthday party so that should be a tester.
I've just tried it at home, but it still stutters whenever I load a video and the performance setting is on fastest.

Its's reading the video's off a SATA-II hard drive so don't think that's causing the stutter on the playing video when I load the next. Any ideas?

2Gig Ram. Pentium 3.2Ghz (D) Dual Core
Yes slider is set to fastest.

Could it be a problem with AVI files? As I have had to change the codec decoder to Windows Media.
