I am contemplating of getting a new pair of cd players to be used for timecode cd - though I'm still not sure if I'd get HDJ MK2 or a usb soundcard. okay, here my question: If I go for this setup, I would not be able to control VDJ program, right? It would just be static all the way around in the screen? I'm gonna use an external mixer as well.

Can someone post how it really works -- the TCCD -- how will you grab an mp3 off your hard drive? still via your mouse? how does it work? do you play the timecode cd first before pulling a track? or load the track first then play the TCCD? if you stop/scratch the plate off the cd player, would the track stop/scratch as well? how about the pitch? would controlling the pitch of your cd player control the pitch of the mp3 track as well? does VDJ pitch change at all if this is done?

the cd allows you to control the software by sending control singals

the software will follow all the instrutions you give it on the cd players ie backspin , start stop ect

I use ssl-1 box from serato with vdj...the serato cds come with two tracks one for playing the song and the second one for scrolling and selecting ur next song...vdj timecodes do not have a second track that allows u to scroll find ur next track and loaded...?

you can do this i think with the option browser track but im not sure sorry i will test

oh okay...where do i find this browser track bc when i downloaded vdj timecoded cd it was only one track?...thank you

go to Options > sound options > time code options and tick the box browser track

so how about the pitch? does it move as well when you later in off your cdj? does vdj program automatically adjust the pitch/bpm as well on the screen?

"oh okay...where do i find this browser track bc when i downloaded vdj timecoded cd it was only one track?...thank you"

It's after 9-10 minutes of the timecode track. It's there, it's just not separated into two tracks.

Yes, when you move the pitch on the CD player it moves the pitch in VDJ.

stay tuned V3 Timecode comming soon with a special browser track

if you change the pitch will be reflected on soft

If you have not actually bought CDJs yet, then I would suggest rather getting a decent native controllers which can offer a lot more functions, and are usually a lot cheaper. Timecode is nice for those who already had their turntables and CDJs.

Then again, if you want to play CDs as well without a computer, then thats the better route to go down.

If you decide to go the controller route, rather wait for the numark Total Control or the new vestax controller. These should be better than the herc MK2
