Not exactly, the * means that the CBG is correctly defined on the song (ie that Virtual DJ has found a good pattern and has set correctly BPM and phase informations)
This feature means that in automix mode, the song should be mixed on tempo with another "*"-rated song
You can see a "!" if the song has a pop or noizes, or if you have a cut (like a damaged mp3 file for example)
