after consulting the forum a couple of times i managed to get the clicks and pops out of my rmx but i find that the button response is a bit of and tracks can't be dropped with volume open because you have to adjust them first to get them synced with the ongoing track.
This is very anoying because i know i time it right and this makes cueing utterly useless.
Anybody any ideas???

What virtual dj software version are you using? After reading a few things on here, I got rid of 5.07 and upgraded to 5.2. Between that and the audio settings, I am pretty sure everything that I didnt like went away...
There are huge noticeable difference on how much this console works better with the newer version of virtual dj. Also make sure to upgrade the firmware on the RMX.

am currently running vdj djc 5.2.1 downloaded of the site with the newest drivers and firmware update.
Unfortunatly the console edition comes without the config menu.
Also i haven't been able to apply downloaded fx or skins

you need the Hercules RMX skin, and then you can assign them at any time. There will be a button for each of the six on the control surface.

when i mix on the RMX console, it sounds as though the song is skipping for just a fraction of a second, over & over again. i have downloaded all the latest drivers & the latest software but still having the problem. Help please, its urgent because it keeps happening when am playing at the club.
Is there a solution? if not i may need to return it because it cost me alot of money & i would expect it to perform for that much money.

2) Which version of VirtualDJ do you use?
- Is it VirtualDJ DJC or VirtualDJ Pro or VirtualDJ Pro demo?

I've been using the rmx for a couple of months now and i managed to get most of the pop and crackle problems out of it.
But i am still also not satisfied with it.
-The on screen gain buttons jump back and forth every time a new song is loaded to a deck so it becomes a pain to mix everything at the same volume level. keep having to reset the gains with each track i load
-Songs take WAY too long to load for preview - over 1 minute for a 3-4 minute song
-The BPM calculator is not accurate and changes the bpm's everytime all over the place, everytime i start the program and load the songs
-the loop buttons make looping impossible - it is not possible to make a loop in an ongoing song - the only way it works is to make the loop before you play the track
-there is a delay in almost every button on the rmx - even just starting up a track never seems to manage to be in cue with the playing song, its always 1/2 second short.
-the integrated fx on the rmx sound cheesy - like a cheap toy - not like ordinary mixers - the mk2 sounded better.
-VDJ changes up the pitch - sometimes i try to make a mix say in 128bpm - it will change the pitch to 127.9 or something like that - even using the sync buttons doesn't stop this
-The LE version of VDJ leaves you just about enough of the program functionality to get on as long as the rmx is functioning as it says on the box - unfortunatly - it doesn't - and you are left with absolutely no options to do anything about it but buy the pro version - and I am not at all confinced that that will fix all or any of these issues
I also think it is weird that you seem to be getting way more vdj with the mk2 than you get with the RMX - no samples anymore and stripped down fx, no autoloop or beatlock,stripped down record options and most importantly NO SETTINGS options

It took me 30 minutes to get going with the mk2 and it took me over 2 weeks before i could even do anything with the RMX!!!
Overall i'd say it is a nice little toy for @ home but by no means is it suitable for club djing.
I feel kind of cheated out of my 300 euros
I am sorry that i did not take my time to read all the reviews and issues before i bought it - i'm sure i would have gone for the vci100 or something like that.
I think i'll try my hand at TRAKTOR to see if that works better but as soon as my financial situation picks up i am getting myself another controller

What's the install order for the software for licensed users? I thought I read it here but can't seem to find it now. Uninstall, install RMX, install VDJ?

I was hoping to use the RMX with an MSI Wind. No go though on WMD or ASIO. Just couldn't get rid of the pops and drops no matter what settings I tried. Everything is up to date.
The best I can get with the MSI Wind is using the RMX as a controller and sending sound through the Realtek HD internal. Guess I just won't use that setup with additional external devices.
On my normal DJ PC, I can't seem to find a setting that doesn't work with the RMX. Funny, I had to tweak the E-MU 0404 for quite a while to dial that in with VDJ and that's an internal, dedicated sound card.

Update on RMX on MSI Wind. I downloaded DPC Spike Checker Tool. It told me to disable network interfaces. Latency was up over 8k. Turned off wireless and SLAM. Down to sub 100. Under 500 with VDJ running. No pops or problems.
ASIO Mode on RMX w/ Ultra enabled on Sound Setup.
Auto in Sound Card Latency, Basic/Simple/Fast.

you have to choose master+mic in the record config

Hi Guys,
I just bought the RMX, and I must say, even though I like the layout, I CANNOT, repeat, CANNOT get the damn thing to work. I do not get the settings tab that you show in the picture, nor, do I get the none/headphones/etc box. I had that box on the NUmark set that I had, thinking that I would be upgrading, but I have to say this unit STINKS.
Having said that, I am "STILL" open minded to take suggestions about how to make this thing work. My problem is..."Error on ASIO sound driver" when I go to turn on the Virtual. Then I get no sound from it, and no play on the decks. So if ANYONE can help.......GO RIGHT AHEAD.... I am all ears, or this unit is HISTORY....
