Just thought I'd share a little information.
When I purchased my 5500's I wanted to know if i could use strictly the USB/MIDI to control VDJ, but use an external sound card. I've got the 4500 rack-mounted into my case, but wanted to be able to plug up the 5500's during certain events and have the vinyl look/feel, without adding a ton of cables. Turns out, you can plug up the 5500 via USB and use the Denon ASIO utility to disable the sound output. This allows you to use whatever sound card you like, while sending the control portion over to the 5500s. So, that being said, I'm now able to spin on either the 4500/5500 and use the sound card already wired-in to my mixer.
