Hello, my name is Allen. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about my past, present and future of my passion for music.
When I was as young as seven years old, my mom would take me and my 2 brothers shopping in downtown Albuquerque every payday and allow us to pick out our favorite 45 record. By the time I reached middle school I had quite an extensive collection of 45 records and soon had an entire album collection. We owned a Magnavox ceramic turntable with a single 18” woofer and a 6” mid-range speaker, and as the neighborhood DJ would crank the latest tunes so loud the whole neighborhood would hear....Hello, my name is Allen.
We owned a Magnavox ceramic turntable with a single 18” woofer and a 6” mid-range speaker, and as the neighborhood DJ would crank the latest tunes so loud the whole neighborhood would hear. By the time I reached high school I was heavily into breakdancing and hung out with and inspired by some of the local DJ’s like Talk of The Town and Masters of Sound. Right after high school I joined the Navy and continued collecting music. In the early 90s I managed to collect over 500 cassette tapes – I was that guy with a 50 pound boom box on his shoulder blasting music in public places like the city bus or at the State Fair.
My first DJ event was 5 years ago when a couple of my friends wanted to have a New Year’s Eve party. The opportunity of using a friend’s professional DJ equipment came about. The rest is history – I haven’t stopped since! I am constantly learning more and more each day and having fun while doing it. I’m like a kid on Christmas morning when I purchase a new piece of DJ equipment or get butterflies when someone books an event. I love playing music! Especially playing music people like. I understand what it’s like being on the other end of the DJ booth so I’ve learned to cater to a variety of audiences with a variety of music.
I heard someone once say “if you enjoy what you do for a living, you’ll never have to work another day in your life”. I honestly get that.
Although I have a weekly job which I also enjoy, I am able to use my electronic skills as an electronics technician and apply some of the techniques to this fast-paced technology we’re in.
goodtimes DJ Service is passionate and professional in every aspect of the DJ industry.
