I know this has been covered on here before, but no luck in finding an answer. Mostly noticable in my kj folders. I get my file and lets say it is named: Seger, Bob - Sunspot Baby. I rename the file to: Bob Seger - Sunspot Baby. VDJ's record case still recognizes the way the file was named first. I remember on the old PCDJ program that I used to run, you could just right click on the particular music folder and hit refresh and all the files you renamed would be named correctly. What are the steps to refreshing the folders on VDJ?

Your best bet is to rename your files within VDJ itself. Thus eliminating the need to rescan.

It depends if your VDJ browser shows ARTIST - TITLE or FILENAME. I prefer FILENAME because it will look the same as in Windows Explorer.

Favorite folders get updated automatically. Virtual Folders have to be manually edited...

Thanks guys. I will try setting it up to look for filename and see how that works. It seems that earlier on I had spotted a thread that mentioned a file that held on the song information and if you deleted that file, it would refresh itself. I dont use cue points or anything so I am not worried about losing anything like that. I tried to edit the song in VDJ, but that did not seem to wotk either. I know that VDJ creates a file in My Documents. In there, there is a database file. Is this what I am looking for. I just dont want to delete or get rid of anything that will harm my system. I am just trying to get VDJ to reread all my music files.

Do not edit within VDJ, use tag n rename, use favourite folders, sorted

Well, I have discovered some things on VDJ thanks to a couple replys. I also think I have discovered the file I was refering too. In the harddrive itself there was an XML document file called VrtualDJ Local Database v6 and also one in the VrtualDJ folder in my documents. I deleted them both and restarted VDJ and that seemed to do the trick. All my files appear as I have named them now.
