No... no...no torrents are not illegal. downloading copyrighted material is not particularly illegal either(as in the cops come after you) it is however a contractual thing...
therefore you can get sued........for lots and lots of money.....so don't download copyrighted material...
what I'm saying is there are songs that people have made and themselves which are torrents.... therefore free of anybody lingering over you ready to sue!
