You can edit/ adjust the beat grid and it is saved, as for locking it, just don't edit it again.

What happens if you accidentaly hit the tap button after you just loaded a track. There is no undo function either...
Being able to lock the beatgrid would be great!

One trick seems to be if you add a variable BPM... So add a variable BPM marker to the end or start of a song to "fix" the grid to a song you spend time setting right.
Some songs are easy to bpm but others like "beatless" instruments or vocals do take time preparing and setting right so it sounds good when mixing with another song or adding a sampler to it.
Using this variable BPM trick I am able to save my "precious" time I spend gridding these songs right so they sound just right when mixing. :-)
A little lock would be a great feature though, just like being able to lock the cue points.
