Thank you PachN it is using the NVIDIA. It's great to be part of a group of people that go above and beyond. Thank you once again PachN and Dan.

A lot more responsive on mac and graphically more pleasing, love that Scrolling now works as expected, no more jumping!
Oh and the sound! The sound is immense, 100x cleaner and smoother sounding.
Seems to be a bit slower on my Windows PC but I understand that it's pre-release software and hasn't been finalised.
I'd still prefer to have the option for a side list on the bottom and the automix list at the right as I can see myself getting confused with it (I use sidelist for karaoke tracks and automix list for background music).
Some of the default settings are questionable (such as the choice to take off keylock by default, and to sync tracks by default etc)

You can - there's a setting in the config for the sidelist.

If I change tags outside VDJ they are not read inside VDJ unless you use the tag editor, load the tag and write it. The database is overriding any tag changes outside VDJ. I tried 'load tags' from the folder menu but no go. It still shows the old tags.

Yeah just read through the entire thread there haha!
Is there a way to change the behaviour of dragging tracks out of the automix/side list playlists, I need to click the track then hit delete where as in VDJ7 I was able to just drag the unwanted tracks out?
Also, I've created a thread about this, but don't know if anyone here knows?:
"I run a Karaoke so while I'm doing that I have my background music running on Automix normally. I used to be able to (if I had, say, a remix with a 30 second intro) drag the Mix-in cue to where the music would start on the upcoming track and select a mix out point for the current track.
Now when I place my mouse over it, nothing changes, if I click, it just takes the currently playing music back to that point. I would like to be able to simply click and drag.
I understand that there's an automix editor, but 9 times out of 10, when I'm working, I don't have time to faff about with an editor and it would sound unprofessional and like I didn't know what I was doing if I was constantly dragging songs to where they should be during the course of the evening.
Is it something I'm missing in the settings which simply needs re-enabled?"

I think it's about time that VDJ eradicates any hints of "childish", "toy" and "nonprofessional" from its image. There is still time to adjust these things as VDJ8 isn't officially released. For me this is the last chance VDJ has to get it right in the public image department.

Maybe you should think about a more slim skin/GUI in the way of "Microsoft Metro Look" or like Serato. That's more comfortable to look at for me.

My first impression: is not finished on Mac platform, and so there is no clear support, there are a number of thread unanswered.

Just because the thread is unanswered DOES NOT mean that it hasn't been read.
We have a team working around the clock, all around the world working to assist users and squash bugs.
Please be patient and hopefully all of your issues will be addressed in future updates.
We must remember this is Pre-Release - as such there will be bugs and issues. Some exclusive to you and your setup, others more general and affecting many users. We hope to fix most, if not all of these before releasing officially.

backspin is not good at all, cant even turn it on and off and use as an effect. v7 backspin was better imo. how do i make effects auto reset when loading new song?
geposted Sat 17 May 14 @ 2:35 pm
the backspin works good i think .. if you dont want to backspin to song slow downs and stop (the most common way), but rather use it as a dramatic effect, just press the stop button on deck, and rapidly tap the play button.. and it acts like a nice cool effect..
Personally i kinda like that better, it leaves you in full control, over timing ..

First impressions.
Been using it for a couple of days and no real issues so far.
I get a bit of audio distortion if I have my Wi-Fi on, but I have had that issue since the beginning of time, and it's no big deal. I don't use Wi-Fi when gigging.
Running win 7 pro, 64bit, 4gig ram, on an old Toshiba with no problems.
Running a Pioneer djm900 srt and a pair of Pioneer cdj1000's with no issues. (not my usual playout system, but I also do pa hire, and have to have, and be familiar with all different kit).
You can also get one timecode to run both virtual decks, by mapping it to the same channel, and toggling the virtual vinyl on and off. Not sure if I have explained that clearly, but it's handy if one of your players packs up halfway through a gig.
Audio through the laptop, and on a small pa system sounds more defined. Should make a big difference on a large pa system.
Just need some track load buttons, like on Serato; Ctrl and the arrow keys. Sure this is easy, I just don't know how to do it.
I am sure that as time goes on, and skins and mappers are created, the issues others are having will be ironed out.
All in all, I am really happy with version 8. THANKS TO ALL THE TEAM.

I've only been playing with it for a few hours today, I think I have had most of the things I couldn't find on my own answered in the forum.
I still need to give it some serious play time before I can gig live with it, but at first once over I really like the interface and the changes into the new VDJ8.
on thing I did find I to not like (or if there is a setting I have yet to find) is..
in VDJ7 on my filter folder for "Compatible Songs", if I am beat mixing I play harmonic progression... so i sort my songs by BPM >then I sort by key (Key Number in VDJ7)
it sorts the songs by key, and sub sorted by BPM (lowest to highest in my case)
in VDJ8, I can not get the sort to go in order, its all over the range I have in my filter, it will sort by BPM "OR" it will sort by key, but I can not pre-sort BPM then sort by key to have them line up nicely, so I can progress my dance floor... it makes searching harder for me.
is there a way to do this in VDJ8?
EDIT: add screen capture.

Not yet, but I think they're probably aware of it. Several people have already mentioned it.
Stay tuned to this channel! (what's that 6B doing there? LOL)
