I've had this happen once before and it was a major problem. Folders I created Crooklyn Clan, iTunes, etc. are now split with half the tracks that play and half that don't. Ones that don't play in error now have a period in front of them. Works fine in 7, just 8.

probably in the ID tag of the track..
open in tag editor, and see if your source of music tags it with a period like that

Yes, in tag editor the tracks have a ( ._ ) in front of them. I tried deleting the ._ and they still don't load, says error. Theres thousands of tracks like this.

Hmmm, thats interesting, thanks for that info! I download purchased music from a iMac then copy to a external so I'm guessing the iMac is the culprit?
