Will there be options in the camera plugin as my laptop defaults to the built in web cam when selected (VDJ8) ??? Just the same options as in 7 would be good please???

Options are available in build after 1828, where you can select which camera to use.
Plugins are still being developed and changed so i am sure things will only get better ;-)

Anyway, even with different and unusable settings, the plugin show me the image of my internal camera.
So, it works almost correctly.

As you are aware the v8 camera plugin is not XP compatible. You are seeing different settings because you have manually renamed the old camera plugin from v7 and are using that instead.
Personally I would recommend looking to move on from XP at some point. We can't support it forever after all!
