Hi
Please forgive me if sound stupid but am i right in thinking that i can only use the XDJ-R1 with VDJ if i buy the softwere from VDJ, there is no other mixing softwere that i can use, i feel if this is the case then why did i buy the XDJ-R1 if i cant use any other softwere but VDJ, once again sorry if i sound stupid but am i right ???

You can use other DJ software. Any software that supports mapping of USB MIDI controllers can be used.
Remember though, any decent DJ software will have to be paid for. You've invested in the R1. Now invest in the software!
