I am having trouble with the custom button feature. Is there a way to have a custom button start (play) deck 1 and crossfade from deck 2 at the same time. And then another custom button that would start (play) deck 2 and crossfade from deck 1 at the same time. Thanks for any help you can offer. I am looking at finally switching from another program to VirtualDJ but am trying to figure out a couple shortcuts I had on the other program.

I think that crossfade may be too instant, there is auto cross fade command but I'm not to familiar with it

No, it will crossfade smootly according to the default crossfade time. I don't remember but I believe it is 4s.
Plus, in your example you do NOT specify a direction to crossfade to, so it may imply unwanted behavior.
At least for it should've been like :
deck 1 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms 0%
deck 2 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms 100%
Sorry in my previous post I wrote 'crossfade' instead of 'auto_crossfade'.
