Ok so I will be honest I have no idea why this is happening,
I don't usually update software much (I am more than aware that's a bad thing.) So I was using the 2018 version of the software for the past 3 years and loved it. I recently updated to the newest update and was distraught to find that the audio sounded as if speakers were popped. I played it through my headphones which I've had for about 4 or 5 years and just thought they were popped so I opened Spotify and played the same song on there and it was crystal clear. If anyone else is having this problem please let me know how you've fixed it

Not entirely sure what you meant by "popped" ..
But if you mean pops an crackles in the sound, it usually means the asio buffer is running dry.
The fix being to set a higher buffer in the driver settings...
256 samples should be ok, if not try 512.
And can also use this too to check what causes issues at computer if you need a really high buffer:
