Is there a way to precompute and save stems for online files? Specifically beatport files. Dragging them into the stems folder doesn't appear to do anything.

This feature was added in Build 7349.
Testing it now, it seems not to be available, from a right click menu.
And setting stemsSavedStems to Automatic which should save the stems, does not, since loading the same track again, the stems are again recalculated, for one of the Beatport 1000, Offline tracks.
And interested in the method, to pre-compute stems for the cached online tracks.

The key word in the description is 'cached' i.e. offline. The service needs to provide offline storage of their tracks.
You can't save/record streamed tracks, for obvious reasons.

I don't use Beatport myself, but the function works fine with iDJPool tracks that I have tested.
Simply drag the cached file to "Stems" folder.

It will indeed only work for iDJPool, VJPro, Digitrax and Soundcloud.
For beatport we have no control over how songs are cached, so we can't save precomputed stems either.

Understandable if a bit frustrating, thanks for the replies.
Stems 2.0 is too good, so I'll have to break down and upgrade my DJ PC to be able to do them in realtime I suppose.
