Hi i have just purchased a DDJ FLX10 and it arrives tomorrow, i have always used VDJ on my past controllers, can anyone tell me there experience etc and what works fine and does not work on the FLX10 running on VDJ.
The sales team in the shop have advised i run it on Reckordbox but i have no experience on that. Whats peoples opnions please.

It runs perfectly. 10 out of 10. No issues whatsoever.

VDJ doesn't support mix point but has reassigned the buttons to key sync.

I made a couple of changes to the mapping for personal reasons however it's just fine out of the box.

I also find it strange that people ask questions after buying something where logic would dictate that should be done before but hey ho ......

It will run with vdj just fine,
it will be just like running vdj with any other device. It's just a box of buttons with an audio interface. It doesn't do anything special at the HW level, you press a button it sends a midi message, beyond default mapping, how vdj acts on that message is really your choice.

What one or two buttons causes vdj to do, might differ from what is printed on the device button labels, because vdj has preferred ways of working.

Also, for future reference, the first stop is always the Hardware Manuals page.

https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/pioneer/ddjflx10/

I've also used it before for certain gigs (brought by another DJ), and rented it before to check it out and I echo what everyone else has said...it runs really well. It mostly works like how it does with Rekordbox (waveforms display, BPM display, and labelled functionality), except for mixpoints (which is a Rekordbox only feature, it then works like Serato for that) and the DMX out (which is only used with Rekordbox's proprietary DMX control (VirtualDJ doesn't have an equivalent there, but arguably SoundSwitch and other alternatives are better) integrated into their software).

I also have the FLX 10 and like the other posters It was a seamless transfer from my MCX8000 which I still love. I've also remapped some of the buttons I don't use to thing I do but VDJ is very easy with mapping. Nothing to do with VDJ but the one thing I miss is the ability to have a USB stick for backup in a pinch.

I still use the MCX8000 and the FLX10 depending on the type of gig. Both great controllers for VDJ.

It's personal preference, technically the skin makes no difference to the hardware, if the hardware influences a different skin choice, which one is up to you
