Topic: Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3
Could we please get full support for the Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3(you supported mk1 & 2),it just needs haptic drive support and mixer screen support, its been out for years now and for what ever reason you decided to not support this mixer and only an unfinished mapping allows us to use your software with it? Dont make all the owners of this deck use Traktor Pro instead
Thank you

mk1 was never supported, and support of mk3 is where it is because of NI, they made the mk3 a proprietary communications protocol, NI purposely made it difficult to use with any other dj software.
And they use all kinds of tricks just to be awkward (different definitions needed based on serial number)

Unfortunately it's not up to us to further support this controller.

We have tried our best, but Native Instruments made this controller extremely complicated for no good reason.
It's not that we don't want or that we don't care to support it. It's that we litterally can't do it without NI either providing inside info on how the unit is supposed to communicate with host, or provide a firmware update that will make things much simpler.

To be honest, we don't think NI will do either of the above.
So, don't expect S4MK3 to be natively supported unless a miracle happens.

If you really enjoy VirtualDJ, then there are a ton of other controllers that you can choose from, that are natively supported and can be used without ANY issue whatsoever with VirtualDJ.

So, if you really enjoy VirtualDJ, consider to purchase another controller to really enjoy using it!

Thanks guys, thats unfortunate on NI part

Which controller would do you recommend that is the closest to Traktor S4 MK3 Kontroller including pre set mapping ?

s4 mk2, if you can find one, pretty much the same thing but none of the propriety nonsense.

Some alternatives for not gigantic 4 channel controllers. None of these have moving jogs though:
-NI S4 Mk2 (probably the closest)
-NI S3 (less IO, no extensive FX controls)
-Reloop Mixon 8 Pro (paddles to activate FX, no loop+move encoders)
-Vestax VCI-400 (upper pads aren't RGB and feel like buttons vs pads)
-Roland 707m (not as extensive FX controls)
