Not all soniques woek in all machines in all cases, as you found out.

Ok go into the Video panel and select play when no video and put Sonique in there. Then go into the effects tab in VDJ and go to Video effects, select Slideshow, select open, go to video effects there and double click on one of the effects and you should be good to go.
