I want to use 2 turntables with my VirtualDJ MK2 console. I don't have the VitualDJ Pro software. I discovered that too late :-(
I did not read the documentation thoroughly and did not see that time-coded vinyl for scratching is ONLY supported by the VirtualDJ Pro software.
I am using a Dell PC laptop running Windows XP and I installed a Creative Audigy 2 ZS notebook. This card has ASIO support and so I should be ok there.
I have 2 questions;
1) Can the laptop running Windows XP support 2 sound cards? It is mentioned on the VirtualDJ website that to run 2 turntables, you must use 2 sound cards and so I assume that it is possible.
But doesn't Windows automatically disable one of the sound cards? Is there a way to enable both?
2) I didn't purchase the VirtualDJ time coded vinyls. I have 2 Serrato scratch time coded vinyls.
My question is that if I do purchase the VirtualDJ Pro software, can I use the Serrato vinyls or do I HAVE TO purchase the VirtualDJ time coded vinyls?

first of all YOUR MK2 IS ENOUGH for using tcv.
you dont need two soundcards
you need a soundcard with 2 stereo inputs and 2 stereo outputs and to be supported with asio drivers.
your mk2 has everything of that. check skyfxl's topic here

the best solution to get 100% from vdj and tcv is to purchase tcv's download trial version see if you are satisfited (you will be,i'm sure about it) get you dj console registred to your vdj profile to upgrade your home edition to pro in a special offer.

I bought 2 VDJ timecode vinyls to use with my roommates PC/VDJ rig.
We used a Maya 44 PCI soundcard.
The response was great.
I owned Final Scratch v1.1 years ago and am happy to say VDJ + timecoded vinyls is a more powerful and robust solution.
I'm saving for VDJ Pro now because my roommate is gone, but I still have the time code vinyls and my Technics 1210s...
