I just got my new sound card ( soundblaster live ) hooked up to my laptop but I still cant prelisten to tracks.
When I press the headphone button the song for the other deck comes out in the main speakers
Any info on how to configure the sound???
Cheers

You can't use other sound card with your Home version since it is designed to work with Hercules MK2 only. Why don't you use sound card built inside MK2? Prelistening will work for sure.

its not the mk2 version its only dj control mp3.
I needed to get a 4.1 minimum sound card to prelisten.
I have the headphones connect to the rear speaker socket on soundblaster but nothing is coming out of this
Instead when I push the headphone button on the mixer it comes out the right speaker
cheers

You need to change your sound card settings in the "settings" area.
You need to set it so it will use 2 sound cards.
Try using the soundblaster as your main out and your laptops headphone output as your cue.
that has always worked well for me.

I believe that you have the console version - correct?
This is the proper set for MK2. He only has the mp3 version and I take it the software that came with the console and not the Home Edition. The software is recognizing the control but in config of VDJ there is only one option for sound ( MK2 ). It doent even know that there are other Cards available.
Both versions are the same except the console version only works with MK2.
To use the other sound card you with have to upgrade to pro or if you can take the mp3 back and exchange for console version.

Upgrade to the pro-version and you will have the option for the sound cards available under the settings tab in config.
We can walk you through it once you upgrade...
Upgrade because it not only gives you the headphone option but also gives you more options...
You get a discount I do believe if you have the home version...
Cuidate!

What he said !
I dig my console but CAAANT wait until the end of the month so I can upgrade to pro version. I'm going to register with PO for video release the weakend. I'm still waiting on an answer on how user friendly the Sony Vegas is.

That's what I said above, he can't use other sound card than MK2 and for DJ control Mp3 he can't use 2 sound cards for sure. I am not sure does it supports prelistening via 4 channels output, but if he has "Headphones" option than he can.
And yes, you have a discount, get it here:
